DIY Age-Reversing Red Wine Mask - Wine, good for your skin???

Hello Lovelies and Happy Saturday!!

You are probably wondering if I am drinking wine right now, with the title of this blog post!! I decided to make use of my insomnia one night and started searching for home remedies for facial masks and facial cleansers.  I recently started using handmade soap ( cold process) and have become more aware of the ingredients found in store bought soaps and face cleansers.  I not only found that the handmade soaps had all natural ingredients, but it left my skin clean, very clean and soft.  I have used liquid body wash for so many years, that I had forgotten that companies still made bar soap.  I have stopped purchasing commercial brand soaps and now only buy from Indie makers.  In my quest for finding a DIY face mask, I was surprised to find so many recipes out there.  I guess I have been living under a rock all these years!  LOL The first result that came up was DIY Age-Reversing Red Wine Mask.  I thought, its late and I must be reading this wrong. I clicked on the link and found this was a very effective home remedy face mask and it was just 3 simple ingredients!! A face mask that was inexpensive AND used wine?  Talk about a Win-Win! Below are a few I found and of course, before applying remove all make up, cleanse your face and dry.

Age-Reversing Red Wine Mask from Recipe for Radiance
Ingredients needed:
1 Egg
1 Egg Yolk
3 Tablespoons Red Wine
Whisk all the ingredients together until well combined. Using a pastry brush or a paint brush, apply a thin layer to your face, neck and décolleté, avoiding your eye area.  Leave on for 10 minutes, or until completely dry, then remove with warm water and a wash cloth.
In much the same way as red wine is anti-aging from the inside out, the antioxidants in red wine (including resveratrol) make it a great anti-aging skincare treatment when applied topically. Mixed with egg whites to tighten fine lines and retinol-rich egg yolks, this mask takes happy hour to a new level. ** information take from the following LINK **

There are several other links out there with Red Wine recipes.  I found these to be the top 3 in my search results.

Finding that is doesn't cost and arm and a leg to give yourself "spa" like treatments at home is fabulous!  Now that I have added this to my weekly beauty regimen, my next quest is DIY Facial Mud Mask.  What do you think?  Will you give it a try? I found that doing this mask in the evening, while drinking a glass of wine, is very relaxing and a great way to unwind from a busy day.  I hope you enjoyed this quick post.  I would love to hear your thoughts or if you have any home remedies to share.  Until next time, Keep looking up because that's where it all is!

XOXO Shea
